I need help with my question...(I am a true algebra student!)?

What is the solution to x=1/3y+2 that also has to be a solution to -2x-y=1? It is supposed to be in coordinates! or just like x=_ %26amp; y=_I need help with my question...(I am a true algebra student!)?
x = (1/3)y + 2

-2x - y = 1

Take the first equation, and plug its value of x into the second eq.

-2[(1/3)y+2] - y = 1

Simplify

(-2/3)y - 4 - y = 1

(-2/3)y - y = 5

(-5/3)y = 5

y = -3

Using the value of y, solve for x.

x = (1/3)(-3) + 2

x = (-1) + 2

x = 1

So, the ANSWER is x=1 %26amp; y=-3
