How do you ask a bf a question and make sure you get the true answer??!!?

We went on this camp/trip type of thing, and I met a guy that was really cute and he liked me. He asked me out and I said yes. There is this girl that he knows better and has gone out with before and she likes him. I don't know how to ask him and get the truth. He goes to a different school that isn't to far away. The way we talk is by internet and he has a webcam. How do I find out if she asks him and what his answer will be???How do you ask a bf a question and make sure you get the true answer??!!?
If you ask him repeatedly while making him look you in the eye, he will likely break after answering the same question 6 or 7 times in a row. If he was telling the truth the whole time it shouold become obvious. How do you ask a bf a question and make sure you get the true answer??!!?
talk in time u will see better
theres no way to know you just have to try to trust your man and hope he loves you anough to tell you
girl ask him straight up, if you trust him and his being honest with you there's no reason why he should lie. if he lies, then he's not the right one for you.
will be more study
u could try to trust his answer. if ur going out with him, then he should be trustworthy. cuz the relationship wont really work out if hes not.

  • Can you be a true Christian if you question things a lot?

I know that I have a Christian faith, but it seems to me that I am an ';awkward'; or ';weird'; Christian because I'm open to seeing and considering the other side things. (Mind you, this does not mean I am being persuaded to believe non-Christian things). I an open to the idea that's it's very possible the bible has been tranlated totally wrong over time as well as many of the other arguments other religions question us on such as homosexuality, evolution, etc.. I just tend to have liberal beliefs rather then the usual conservative beliefs but I am not a Liberal Christian. Does this make me a bad Christian? It seems like in today's society in order to be a ';true Christian'; you need to be very conservative and you need to be bigoted towards so many topics, which I don't think is right. Can you be a true Christian if you question things a lot?
You have an incredibly healthy attitude toward your faith, and there are many others who feel as you do (although some are intimidated by the thought of vocalizing those feelings for fear of incurring the wrath of some Bible-thumping mental dwarfs out there!) You are absolutely right as a Christian to be questioning the way the current version of the Bible came to be, and to take offense at interpretations of some of its passages. Good for you; it doesn't take away anything from your basic Christian beliefs. Can you be a true Christian if you question things a lot?
Well you really can't be a true follower of Christ unless you ';pick up your cross, and follow him.'; (to paraphrase)

This means---in one way, to put down the former things of your old lifestyle and follow him. When you accept Christ, you accept God and his word, and believe it to be true and infallible. Therefore, if you have to question so many things...

it may just be a matter of where your faith in him lies.

I'll just leave you with this.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding.

His ways are not your ways, and his thoughts are above your own thoughts.

You have to trust that he knows more because he is more...he's bigger and better.

This is something we all have to come to understand walking this walk of faith as a christian. I myself am learning the same things.

But do trust in him...he will never fail.

    God bless you brother.
I doubt you can be a true anything without questioning things.
An open mind, but a discerning heart is what is needed by everyone that seeks to learn of God.

Remember the Bereans mentioned in the Bible? They search the scriptures to see if what they had been told was true...they ';proved'; it out...and they were commended.

But, once you discover the truth of a matter and have proven it to be so, never doubt it. Stand on it.
Its not wrong to question but you have to go to the bible for the answers. God is the author of the Bible if they Bible says it wrong its wrong. some answers we have to accept by faith. don't be swayed by humanistic views.
If you honestly seek the truth, you will find Him. He has promised. His name is YAHOSHUA, and He is Savior. Once you find Him, you will cease to be a 'Christian' for that is the 'Babylon' that He is calling His followers to 'come out of'. On the other hand, if you are just seeking an excuse to permit you to practice a lifestyle that YHVH had condemned, you will choose to be deceived.
Yes....everyone has to ask their own questions and do their own search as they work out their own salvation and find the TRUTH!
Ne dear because questioning leads to knowledge then science. And when education levels go up, religious delusions and superstitions quietly fade away.

That's why if you have faith, you are supposed to simply believe what you are told to believe. No questions asked, no proof required.
Most christians will tell you not to question God, but it is actually very encouraged in the new testiment to be ';sincerely'; searching for truth, as long as your not questioning God's authority, then you are in the clear... Also keep in mind that the new testiment is based on personal conviction, which means different laws apply to certain types of people.
I'm trying to find a way of putting this without being offensive.

    I'll give it a try.

Go into your search engine, any search engine, type in 'Christian sects'!

I found one which was very good, it listed them in alphbetical order . There are almost 2000 of them, if you check each one out you will find one to your choice.

If you spend a week researching each one, it will take about 4 years to get through the lot.

As you may have guessed, I am atheist, but I am interested in all religions. I think its a great idea to ask questions whatever your religion.

Big problem is who do you ask?

A lot of your answers refer you to 'the bible' as it was written by God.

We all understand the Christian bible was not written by Jesus (he was God wasnt he? and still is)?

OK we wont go into that.

Just check out the different Christian sects, and pick one to suit, plenty out there.
The only requirement to being a Christian is to believe and trust in what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. When you die you will stand at the Judgment seat of Christ and receive a award for doing good and your bad deeds will be burned up.

Sound like you have been watching too many liberal TV News Programs and not studying your Bible. 2 Corinthians 5: 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
The idea of what is right and wrong has been argued for centuries. The Bible, however, spells out the things that right and wrong. Somethings WILL go against what modern society dictates. Do we, as Christians, follow what society demands or what GOD demands?

    GOD bless
    I agree
i think you need to do bible studies because your looking at things from your own understanding and not what it's true intent is.. but it is ok you question things this is how we learn and grow..

as for bigoted it runs both ways and it never says to hate the person but the sin.. because you disagree with someone dose not make you a bigot.. it means you disagree! pointing a finger at them and yelling bigot is there way of trying to get you to accept there point of view because no one wants to be labeled something negative.

as for myself.. I'm not here to impress man by blending in to the crowed.. I'm here to follow god and in the end only his opinion of me matters anyway.
It is very taboo indeed. The bible says that the apostles asked amongst themselves ';What manner of man is this';? Jesus did not hold this against them and he would not hold it against you. Many of today's religious leaders seek to tell you that you are going to hell just because you ';misunderstand'; the mission of Jesus.
If you're a true Christ-follower, it is OK to examine your beliefs, and decide if they're true. If you just take the bible for granted, you will not know what you believe.

Just remember that the bible is truth. If you're not totally sure that the bible is translated properly, examine Greek and Hebrew a bit and make up your mind.

You have to decide if the bible is true or not.

If you are sure that the bible is true and translated properly, then you can read it and know that evolution is false, homosexuality is wrong etc.

It's OK to examine your beliefs. It doesn't make you a bad Christian. Just remember that the bible has the final word. You're not a bad christian if you consider if the Bible's true.
Yes, yes, yes. God gave us brains so we'd ask questions! Jesus asked all the hard questions in his time--that's what got him killed! We're meant to ask hard questions as Christians, both about our faith and about our world. An unquestioned faith is an untried faith is an untrue faith. We must question. By questioning you are only strengthening your faith. And just think--by being open-minded and accepting of others beliefs and lifestyles, you're more likely to be allowed to share your own faith and belief in Jesus. People who go around preaching exclusion and hellfire and damnation and refuse to see things in more than one light aren't doing themselves, the ';sinners'; they're chasing, or God (who they claim to be aggressively recruiting for, as though he was a military agency!), any favors!
I don't think you can be a good christian UNLESS you question things a lot. If you don't question things, you are not examining your faith. If you are not examining your faith, how can it grow?

Jesus came to steal your heart, not your mind.
There is nothing wrong with keeping an open mind. But, you must be careful and filter everything through the word of God. Read this quote from Christian Answers.net

Christianity rests on the assurance that the Bible is completely accurate. It may contain statements that are (1) figures of speech, (2) non-technical descriptions, or (3) difficult to understand. But actual errors would fall into a different kind of category. If there are any errors in Scripture, no matter how small, the book can no longer be our standard of truth.
I question a lot of things pertaining to this ';Bible';. God is perfect, infallible, and is not capable of mistakes, errors, or forgetting.

What I want to know is if the Bible is the infallible word of God, why is it chocked full of errors, mistakes, contradictions, and plagiarism?

The Bible is one book that has been the most edited and/or revised book in the world. If this is truly the inspired ';Word of God'; then there would be no need in anyone revising or editing the contents for ANY REASON.

It has been proven that the ';Ascension of Jesus'; after his Crucifixion was NEVER RECORDED in the Ancient Text of the Greeks, yet it managed to make it's way into the Christian Bible. In 1952, the Bible was REVISED and they removed the Ascension until another revision in 1971 when they added it back in.

That is only ONE SMALL example of the revisions and editing of the bible. The ';errors';, ';contradictions';, and ';plagiarism'; is a whole other section.
I see no harm in having an open mind to those of other faiths.Doesn't mean you're any less Christian whichever denomination you are.

And the bible written by men is full of contradictions, intended or not
you are right! the bible says study to show thyself approved. so, we must know the bible for ourselves. never depend on others to tell you whats what.
you sound like you need to read more philip k dick
You can be a Christian if you question things a lot, as we are told to do just that in the bible. I have to ask though if you believe the bible has been translated wrong, what parts do you believe are right and what parts wrong? What gives you the power to discern which is has been translated correctly? The bible has to be completely correct or we have not the word of God. You must believe all of it or none of it. Just because something in life goes against your feelings doesn't make doesn't make God a liar. His word is truth and if you disagree with what it says you are the one that is wrong.

I have a hard time understanding what you mean when you say ';I just tend to have liberal beliefs rather then the usual conservative beliefs but I am not a Liberal Christian.'; You are one or the other don't straddle the fence.

Many who claim the name of Christ show little or no evidence of salvation by the way they live their lives. Often it is almost impossible to distinguish Christians from non Christians. Many who say they are saved are outwardly sinners showing little or no concern for spiritual things. For them Christianity like putting on or taking off a piece of clothing. They put on their Christian appearance when it suits them, but leave it off most time. The question that naturally arises is: ';Are all who call themselves Christians truly saved and going to heaven when they die?'; The answer is sadly, ';No'; because many who call themselves Christians are in truth not saved.

The Bible is quite clear on the matter. The genuineness of a person's profession of faith is seen in how they live their lives. Just because a person says he believes does not assure that his faith is real. The Bible says, ';Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble'; (James 2:19). James used this statement in making the point that true faith produces works or fruit in the life of a believer. The devils have a head knowledge of who is Christ. But they rebelled against God and do not accept that he is Christ and Lord and they do not live for Christ! Their works are evil. Genuine faith is a faith that works a change in a persons life and produces Godly living in a persons life.

The Bible clearly teaches that when a man is saved his life is drastically changed, yet there are so many who profess to be the children of God whose lives remain virtually unaltered. The key in determining who is truly a Christian and who is not can revealed by the way they live their lives and their attitude toward sin.

Probably the most confusing thing about many who profess to be Christians is their lack of conviction of sin. They seem to be perfectly content with having habitual sin to rule their lives. It does not seem to bother them. Their attitude seems to be based on their belief that because at some time in their life they professed to believe in Christ they are assured of salvation. Often you hear someone say they believe they are Christians and going to heaven because they prayed a prayer and asked God to save them. You ask them where they attend church and they say they don't go to church. For others they claim to be Christians because when they were a child they were baptized and confirmed into some denomination or at some time became a member of a church. These people are trusting in their church membership to save them. Like so many the way they live their lives seems to have no connection to whether they have a true saving relationship with God or not.

Many take comfort in the fact they have a head knowledge of Christ. They believe in the historical Jesus Christ, but their belief does not produce a commitment to living their lives for him. The Bible gives them no assurance of salvation. Nothing is further from the truth than to say that because a person accepts the ';fact'; that there is a God then he is saved. Salvation is a matter of a changed heart. God says, ';For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.'; (Romans 10:10) True salvation is a ';heart'; salvation. The profession made with the mouth is invalid unless it comes from a changed heart that has committed itself to living for God.

This brings up the question, ';Does the Christian sin?'; God says,';Yes!'; ';If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us'; (1 John 1:8). This verse is addressed to the saved. Christians will sin, but they will not like it and will fight it. Paul in Romans Chapter 7 expresses the conflict that the genuine Christian faces. He says, ';I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members (Romans 7:21-23).

The saved man knows he is a sinner and begs God for mercy. However, the religious unsaved man will enjoy his sin and will be greatly offended if it is suggested that he is a sinner. The religious lost are masters of justifying their sin.

It is very interesting that in many cases the world accepts a better standard of conduct for the Christian than many who profess to be the children of God. If you ask the average man on the street if Christians should drink, smoke, use profanity, be immoral, lie, cheat, gamble or steal they will respond with a resounding, NO! Yet, many who call themselves Christians think nothing of doing these things. It appears the lost world in some cases has a better understanding of what God meant when He said, ';Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's'; (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).

Some have the philosophy that if the Bible does not make specific references to some questionable act then it can not be called a sin. The Bible does not specifically mention many individual sins, but condemns all immoral acts in principle. The Word of God does not say that smoking cocaine is sin, but would any sane person conclude that it is not sin? The Bible is a book of principles. We are to examine all things by biblical principles to determine if it is right or wrong. Does smoking crack harm the body? The answer is clearly, yes! Then if it harms the body it is wrong and sin. God says he lives in our bodies (indwells) and He commands that we live pure lives and keep our physical bodies pure.

There is also a further commandment of God that effects the actions of a Christian. The Bible says that the child of God should, ';Abstain from all appearance of evil.'; (1 Thessalonians 5:22) Just because the Bible does not specifically mention something does not mean it is not sin. If an act even appears to be sinful, then the child of God is commanded to avoid it. God's standard is one of purity. The genuine Christian can accept no other standard.

The religious lost are comfortable with sin. They claim salvation but reject the Savior's claims on their lives! They profess to believe the Word of God but refuse to live by it. Jesus speaking to the religious but lost Jews responded to them by asking them, ';But why do you call Me ';Lord, Lord,'; and do not do the things which I say?'; (Luke 6:46)

Every man should examine himself in light of God's Word. If a man is truly saved, Christ will be evident in his life. If he is lost, sin will be the pattern of his lives. The unsaved man is a rebel. He defies God's claims on his life. The born again Christian humbly submits himself to Christ. There is a drastic difference between the two. The true Christian is at peace with God, whereas the lost man is in rebellion. The saved, blood washed, sinner will always stand out in stark contrast to the world. God's children thank Him for saving them FROM sin!
Yes, its called Learning and it is also an indicator to your instructors that they didn't explain stuff very well to you. If it goes beyond that, you probably just have a problem with faith.
    certainly....

    question everything.

its called thinking, and not blindly following.

the cultivation of the inner man,and the relationship with the spirit, along with prayer, meditation, and bible study will lead you to the answers you seek.

as an example, look at how much the disciples questioned jesus.

its very wise to be inquisitive.

    god bless!
