True or false: women salary question?

By 2000, female workers in the U.S. continued to earn comparably less than men.True or false: women salary question?
True, with a catch. Women earn less than men overall because men make up a higher percentage of people who are CEO's, company presidents, and other high ranking jobs. Men also work more hours than women, over an hour a day more on average (that's just the ones who have paying jobs, not counting stay-at-home moms or dads). So it's not just women are paid less because they're women.

It's not for the ';same work.'; Anyway, single women earn more than single men, and nobody has ever gotten up in arms about that one.True or false: women salary question?
After that, women make 98% of what a man makes. So there is a gap, but just slightly. Many people attribut that to men asking for raises more than women do.

True, but its not because of gender inequality.

Men tend to choose the rigid, inflexible jobs that have a high rate of pay, compared to the more flexible lower paying jobs that women tend to go for.

Add that to maternity leave and that statistics show that men tend to work 1 more solid hour a day than women, and you've just accounted for the salary discrepancy.

The idiots that tell you that women earn 30% less than men are talking out their ***, theres no way that any kind of pay discrepancy could be that significant simply based on gender inequality.
The money thrown at female engineers in my company is crazy. They are coming in making more money than the men because there is such competition to get the women hired.

If you match up the same jobs there is really no pay gap. No figures can be hidden anymore and if companies were really doing the 20-30% for the same job as some people say it would be found out the company would be boycotted and in a whole bunch of trouble.

You can not compare different jobs. But if they didn't some people would not get the statistics they want.
False. In fact in some cases women earn more than men e.g. “Young women in New York and several of the nation’s other largest cities who work full time have forged ahead of men in wages” http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/03/nyregi…

If you compare the same job, same hours, same years of experience etc women generally earn the same as men. Feminism has been promoting the false idea that the gap in wages is due to discrimination against women. To be frank this is a joke; can't feminists figure out basic statistics or something? ';Although median hourly pay provides a useful comparison between the earnings of men and women, it does not necessarily indicate differences in rates of pay for comparable jobs. Pay medians are affected by the different work patterns of men and women, such as the proportions in different occupations and their length of time in jobs'; i.e. women get paid less on average because on average they work fewer hours or in less well-paid occupations. http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.…
That is true, but it is not due to male chauvinism or gender bias. It is because of the sheer number of women who choose options that pay less so that they can get enough time with family.

Independent Women's Forum exposes the Gender Wage Gap as feminist fiction:

It's true, however, it is a function of a woman's leave for times when she is pregnant or needs to spend time in the postnatal period. This artificially alters statistics to offer a sense of inequality among the genders.
It's true because women still tend to be concentrated in pink collar jobs that pay less than similar jobs that are predominately male. They often are doing the same kind of work but under different job titles.
Absolutely true. Check out the stats at the Bureau of Census website. The differential between men and women is greater today than it was 30 years ago.
true . . . thats pretty well-known.
Definitely true. Women are making far less for doing the same work, and no one is doing a thing about it.
True with a capital T.

Not until 2057 will it close, I'll throw a party for y'all then :P
