i was told this once and i find myself with questions: what if they just need some more proof of a God? lets say they want to bleive in him, but they are afraid to or something. and another thing is even the non belivers can be good people. anyways what is everyone input on this? lol thanks:P.Another question lol, do you believe it is true that an individual goes to hell if they do not believe in God?
Everyone who dies goes to hell. Because hell is
the common grave of all mankind.
The Hebrew word sheol is translated hell, grave,
and pit in the King James Version of the Bible.
Hell is NOT a hot burning place of torment.
This is illustrated by scriptures at
Revelation 21:8, 20:14
My personal opinion is that many people are
atheist because of not being able to make
sense of the untrue and illogical doctrines that
many religions pass off as being Christian
and bible-based.
Doctrines such as hell-fire and the trinity, to name
a few.Another question lol, do you believe it is true that an individual goes to hell if they do not believe in God?
The evidence of God is all around each and every one of us. No one honestly rejects God without enough logical proof. Rather, there is not enough evidence to convince them to alter their morals. If you reject the very existence of God, then you are rejecting your only hope to avoid eternal separation from God and are in effect choosing an eternity in Hell.
No one is a good person. Most people strive to live to some level of morality, even if they do not know why. But we all fail to live up to our own standards, in all honesty, and therefore fall way short of the perfection required by God! Fortunately, God's Son lived to that standard of perfection, and by admitting our failure and accepting His success through the Cross, we may be saved from our just reward of eternal destruction.
No. I don't believe that.
Is Heaven and Hell just separated by a ';thought filter'; ?
Is God so petty and egotistical that if a mere mortal is unconvinced, he is condemned to eternal hell?
Hmph..not much of a loving, holy, Godly,All forgiving, Ultimate Being, then.....is he?
I believe God is far above such pettiness. And since his existence is not dependent upon your believing and non-believing, your fate in this life or the afterlife is also not dependent on what you think, but rather on what you do.
nope. i don't believe that those who don't believe in my version of ';God'; will be punished with eternal torture or even be reincarnated as some lower life form. i don't know what (if anything) happens once the body dies but there's no reason for me to assume that torture awaits anyone ... even if my human sense of justice would want it to be so for some very nasty people.
don't believe in false idols, believe in the true unconditional love FSM god that accepts all to go to heaven if they chose to even if you don't believe in him.
no, honey, it's not true. going to hell for not believing is part of the package of christian faith and certain other religion. i don't buy it.
All I can say is that in Revelation it states:
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and UNBELIEVING, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
In the Bible, faith is describes as= Hebrews 11:1 ';Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.';
The very essence of faith, is that we won't be able to see with our physical eyes, everything that we must believe.
However, there is one way that God physically and visually makes himself known to mankind. That is through his creation. Romans 1:20 says, ';For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:';
We are without excuse when we see God's creation, and still don't believe. Of course, there are people who insist that creation was not created by God. This is deceitful, because it is leading many people away form God.
Please watch my video that explains what a person must believe, and how a person can know for sure they are on their way to Heaven: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLWCAXWx7鈥?/a>
Sam
I believe that people will go to hell for not believing In our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and for not believing that he died on the cross so that they will have a chance to go to Heaven. There are people that believe in God but not In the finished work that Christ did on the cross, and if they don't believe this, they will go to hell when they die according to what his word says.
All sinners are destined to die and be separated from God because sin is rebellion against the commandments of God. Thou shalt not lie, steal, take the name of God in vain, covet, fornicate, commit adultery, dishonor your parents, kill and so forth.
Every person has broken one or more of these laws so the whole world is guilty of sin. Sin, unrepented of is worthy of death and separation from God because God sent His Son to die and take the place of the sinners who will trust in what Jesus did on the cross to redeem mankind.
Since God has made a way to forgive us and has offered eternal life with him in place of eternal separation from him - it is our fault if we choose to reject it.
As far as unbelievers being good people is concerned: The Bible makes it very clear that there is not one good person upon the earth that does good and doesn't sin. It goes on to say that we have all turned to our wicked ways by choice. Our conscience convicts us of our wrong doing, and we refuse to listen to the warning and continue to live in sin. It is a combination of all this that makes every human unfit for God's kingdom. Christ died and resurrected to change that. There is no need to be afraid to believe in God unless you care more about what people will think instead of what God will think, and God is more than willing to give you the answers you need if you honestly seek him with all your heart.
The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. That only makes sense, right? What kind of god would he be if he shrugged his shoulders and said, ';It doesn't matter...';? If he didn't care about what people believe, why did he send his son to die? Jesus didn't have to die if it doesn't matter.
The Bible is also clear that God is just. People who truly don't have enough information will be judged less harshly than those who use it as an excuse to not follow God.
The Bible is also crystal clear that there is no heaven for anyone except through Jesus Christ. Believing in God is not enough. Even Satan believes.
No. Hell is reserved for those who deliberately turn their back on God ( a mortal sin ) and persist in it until they die. A disbelief in God is not the same thing.
Yes, I think they go to hell if they don't believe in God. But their lack of belief isn't really the reason they go to hell. The reason people who lack a belief in God go to hell is because of their sins.
why would one be afraid to believe in God?
good people aren't good enough. if they were Jesus would not have needed to die on the cross for everyone's sins.
Because you don't believe in something does not mean it is true.
Answer: According to God, God not man will judge.
yes
Those that don't believe in God are generally called ';Atheist.'; I don't believe that there are atheist; they just deny the existence of God. Because to deny is different than not to believe.
An atheist is different from a fool.
Psalms 14:1
';The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.'; That's an inner resolve.
Ecclesiastes 7:29
';God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.'; That's denial by rationalizing.
Gentiles generally don't believe in God.
Ephesians 2:11-12
';Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh,...and without God in the world.';
But they aren't condemned to hell; they still have to be judged.
Romans 2:14-16
For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.';
And it could be clearly seen in the verdict.
Matthew 25:34, 50
';Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.';
They have done good, says the King, unto one of the least of these my brethren. Clearly, they aren't Christians; they are Gentiles, they are unbelievers. But they became worthy because of the inherent goodness present in their person. Some of them might be pagans, atheist, agnostics, or with some form religion; but they aren't fools.
atheist do not always go to hell,
it really depends on the severity of sins!
for the book of revelation clearly divides Hell and death as being two different places, and then there is spirit prison which is NOT the lake of fire and then there is the symbolic gehenna and sheol which is the grave, and then ultimately theere is the place which is called outerdarkness where the sons of perdition go.
in the book of peter, ch. 3, it describes the spirit prison where all the people of noah's generation went for ';sometimes being disobedient';.
and jesus himself says though a person is ';dead'; if he call upon the name of jesus, he will be saved in the spirit world as if he were saved in life. (something like that).
i knew a person who was GAY who commited suicide but was later revived and he told me of his experience of life after death, and yet he is alive, or was! the last time i saw him.
i know a testimony which says a women commited suicide and ended up in a place which is described as a place without hope. and there she saw the children she would have given birth too. its a story found in a very old tv documentary. but she too was given a 2nd chance
in the LDS church Missionaries are taught to visit different realms of the spirit world to give people 2nd chances and those that accept i assume are given a get out of hell ';free'; card.
so one cannot assume the MIND of christ and his judgments in all things! clearly Jesus is Lord over all judgment and over Earth and its heaven, it is his job and work to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of all men. the only ones who are lost are the sons of perdition. i would think even an atheist would become the quickest convert in the presense of jesus and all one need do is ask for forgiveness.
but !!!
there is another thought, sometimes the rate of mercy and the punishments of crimes must also be fulfilled to demand justice.
and the ideas of the tv show supernatural may be lacking on what happens to all people under all circumstance when a person dies.
