something i've always found odd, is when i hear someone use the phrase, ';you are a true american';.
why? as long as you were either born here, or are a legal U.S. citizen, are you not a ';true american'; too?
honestly, what makes anyone more american than anyone else? as far as i'm concerned, you are either an american, or are not an american.
just a random thought of mine i thought i'd share. your thoughts? anything to add/disagree with?Question for americans...?? ';a true american';?
well I supose some people think they're better than others I mean thats what there basicly saying but as long as u have a citizen (like me I was born in France) or you were actualy born here you r an american there is no such thing as a true americanQuestion for americans...?? ';a true american';?
there's some people that don't deserve American liberties people that wont fight for America shouldn't be American
there are also those that undermine America or ';sell out'; mostly your basic liberal goofball
and then there are those that are just enemy's of the state terriorist that burn crosses in front of black ministers homes or bomb churches with little tiny babies inside
When I hear the phrase ';true American'; there are 2 types of people that I think about.
The first is rich WASPs... (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants) who are on the East Coast. They have been here in America since the Mayflower... they form clubs where only Revolutionary War families are allowed in it. They are the ';establishment';....
The second group of people that I think about when I hear the phrase ';true American'; is white people from the South. They are very patriotic and they like to bandy about the term who is ';true'; and who is not a ';true'; American. Very likely their ancestors have been here since the Civil War. They are not necessarily rich.
Those are the two groups who use ';true'; American the most.
