I guess that's understandable. Alot of New England's fans are bandwagoners, but that's true of any dynasty. Alot of people talk about the true Steelers and true Packers fans... the real dynasties. Well... when those teams had their initial success the only fans they had were there hometown fans and then when they became successful people jumped on the bandwagon and started bringing up their kids as that teams fan which created a great fanbase. That's what's happening in New England... they are still building a fanbase outside their hardcore fans that have been there since the beginning. About 20-30 years down the line... there are gonna be so many people that were brought up Patriots fans because of this dynasty it's gonna blow any other fanbase out of the water especially considering how many states New England respresents. GO PATS!.People like to question New England true fan base, huh?
Exactly my friend.People like to question New England true fan base, huh?
I'm glad the Jaguars' fanbase is growing, but not fast enough
Lots of ex-Bostonians around the country are a Patriots Nation in the fall as they are Red Sox Nation all spring and summer.
One real problem with your theory about Pittsburgh. They started their Dynasty about the time the Steel Mills were closing, so the fans were MOVING OUT. It wasn't simply all new fans, it was old ones spreading everywhere. Well I don't question how many fans are bandwagon fans, I already know most of the Patriots fans are. When Brady goes down and the team falls apart we will see how many fans they have left. From there we will see who is right about how many are bandwagon fans. Oh and the amount of States New England represents? Come on you don't think some of those fans toward the bottom jump to New York teams? The other part of that is do you realize how small those States are? It's not like they are each the size of California or something, heck all of them combined are probably not too much bigger then California.
I've been a Pats fan, longer than most of the Pats Haters have been alive.... They make me laugh, saying they're ';lifelong fans'; of whatever team, when they are all of 17 years old....
go Patriots 16-0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
when i was a kid playing football i was on the revere junior patriots in 1978 hows that for long ago my favorite player was Steve Grogan the toughest QB i ever saw, i know u other fans that love your own teams are sincere about it and some of u are bandwagon fans and by the way that's aloud unless they are pats fans because in some way that's a (bad thing) well let me tell u Pansy's something u root for has been dynasty's and we root for a living dynasty i agree with the author of this question all teams have there time and that's when they get their fan base.
true tht.i've been a fan since the the days they went 4-12 in '82.of course i was only 3 though but i've always like them.some people just like to jump on in beacuse everyone else is doing is ya know?of course you gotta jump on unless u liked them since thy started back in the 60s.i had to start somewhere too.there is just something bout them that i like.there so smooth they way the do things like the 49ers.
You have a very valid point. However, as I have been a Patriots fan for quite a while(since 1996), you can really tell who is a true Patriots fan, and who is just a bandwagoner just waiting to jump on the next one.
You can tell by how people react to the situation. Let's put this in perspective, if you ask about the undefeated season, what would you say?
A bandwagon fan would say something on the lines of,';Yeah! We're undefeated! No one can stop us!';, or, if you ask them about how the game went, it wouldn't occur to them, all they care about is if the Patriots won or not.
A true fan, however, sees that it isn't over until it's over. Sure, 16-0 is a great accolade, but it will mean nothing without the Vince Lombardi trophy. And when a close game does happen, the true fans worry about that, they don't worry about if their team won, they worry about how their team performed. Is it likely to happen again? How will they perform in the next game? Is it enough to get them to the Super Bowl? That is the questions the true fans think about.
I'm a Patriots fan, and I can tell you that I am a true fan.But you do have a point, it will blow any other fan base out of the water, it's a matter of when.
i HATE how everyone accuses u of being a bandwagoner even when u r not
i dont like the patriots.. but i think the charger team are the biggest babies.
I don't really care who is a fan of the Pats
the reason why we question the New England fan base is because your bandwaggoners talk a lot of crap, and it gets old, because 10 years ago you were cheering the Cowboys or the 49ers on.....and now you talk crap about those teams
that is why people like to quesiton New England and their true fan base
I disagree. Kraft said he's moving the team to California next year, so sorry. It wont be the N.E. Pats for long...
they will never have more fans then the Cowboys and Packers
PATRIOTS ARE CHEATERS THEY WERE FINED AND CHARGED WITH IT!!!!
THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED FROM THE NFL FOR AT LEAST ONE SEASON!
AND I FIND IT WIERD THEY YEAR AFTER THE SUPER BOWL (THE GAME THEY CHEATED IN) THEY RETURN WITH A PERFECT 16-0 SEASON! BUT I PROMISE YOU THEY ARE GONNA HAVE TO PLAY THE COLTS AND THEY ARE GONNA BE ELIMINATED! I DONT PULL FOR CHEATERS AND IN HISTORY PATRIOTS WILL BE REMEMBERD FOR THE 16-0 RECORD AND ALSO FOR THE TEAM THAT CHEATED IN THE SUPER BOWL
I REP TRUE TEAMS COLTS,JAGS,BRONCOS,PACKERS,PANTHERS,TITA…
NOT FAKE TEAMS WHO THEY THIER BETTER THAN THE ARE OR THAT IS CHEATERS
CHARGERS,PATRIOTS,FALCONS!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!
