Question about False vs True Labor?

Okay. I have been hurting for about an hour and a half now, pretty consistently in 5 minute intervals. The thing is, if this were the ';real deal';, shouldnt I be in agonizing pain? I mean, it hurts, dont get me wrong, just not so much that I am rolling around on the floor or something..also, the MAJOR pain occurs when I am sitting/laying down. Once I start walking around, it doesnt hurt AS much, but it still hurts...Is this false labor, or is it something to go running to the hospital for? Oh, and I am 40 weeks and 2 days along.Question about False vs True Labor?
For me my labor started out as period type cramps that progressively got stronger and more frequent. Usually they get more intense when you walk as that is a practice suggested to help move labor along. Labor generally can't be mistaken and that was something I feared before I actaully went through it. Good luck ...and congrats!!Question about False vs True Labor?
Being later than 40 weeks, and with the pain coming every five minutes, I would say you are probably in real labor. If nothing else, it would be worth going to get checked out.
I think you should go to the hospital ...because your in labor when you get there they'll help you out by giving you somethin to help to get you in labor
well you should call your dr. and be sure just to be on the safe side. But it sounds like Braxton Hicks because when you walk braxton hicks goes away.

good luck and Congrats
It doesn't have to hurt that much at the beginning. I have three children and none of them hurt that much at first. The best thing to do is stay calm and if walking is more comfortable then walk. It helps progress the labor anyway. Keep record of your contractions and as long as they keep coming at regular intervals and eventually become closer and closer together then its a good bet that your in official labor. Make sure to call your doctor or midwife and let them know of the situation. They may want you to go to the hospital to check you anyway to see if your dilating. Good luck and congrats hun!! Your gonna be a mommy!!!!!!!
have u check to make sure u dont have any discharge coming out of u .. also u pain gets worse , later , believe me i have 5 kids .. if ur up walking it doesnt hurt as much thats just helps u go into labor faster,, lay down for a while and see how far apart the pain ares if there 2 minutes apart then go to the hosp but first see if u have any dischage coming out of u ,, if so get to the hosp ..
considering that your contractions are coming regularly at 5 min you should probably go get checked the really painful part comes a bit later
Cramps are 5 minutes apart,

or the water breaks...get going.

Either that or panic when you

finally realize it's the real deal,

an the baby is born in the car.

Isn't your doctor suppose to

give you a good game plan?

Congrats...Good Luck
It looks like it may be real labour. Not sure if you are in Aus or not. If you are, the hospitals usually wait until you are 3 mins apart. Have your waters broken?

I would go to the hospital to have it checked anyway. No one can really answer this question. Go to the hospital and they will check if you have dialated etc.

Worse case senario, they will send you home, but then at least you know you are ok.

Good luck with everything, you are nearly there!!
ring ur doctor to see what they say but i think ur baby wants to say hello to u and the world
If the pain isn't going away when you're laying down and it's constant, then yes, you do need to get to the hospital.

False labor usually settles down and loses some if not all of it's intensity when you're laying down.

';...In the days or weeks before labor, Braxton Hicks contractions may intermittently become rhythmic, relatively close together, and even painful, at times fooling you into thinking you're in labor. But unlike true labor, during this so-called ';false labor'; the contractions don't grow consistently longer, stronger, and closer together...

... Change your activity or position. Sometimes walking provides relief, and other times resting eases your contractions. (Real labor contractions, on the other hand, will persist and progress regardless of what you do.)...';
Agree with previous answer, sounds like your body is preparing for delivery.!!!!
