True or false physics question #2?

True or false: Changes in the vertical component of velocity for a projectile are proportional to changes in the horizontal component of velocity. True or false physics question #2?
False. X and Y components of projectile motion are completely independent of each other.True or false physics question #2?
I'm thinking is false...for projectile motion you do the x part and the y separately, in most cases the position for x is going to be constant so the velocity would be zero while in the y direction the position is parabolic so the velocity would be constant...from that logic I would say they are not proportional.
False. The vertical component is acted upon by gravity. The horizontal component is acted upon by nothing if you ignore air resistance, as you usually do - so, the horizontal component does stays constant throughout the motion. So, they are obviously not proportional.

False, you can have a large change in a vertical component and have an unchanged horiz. component.
