Only a True practicing Catholic can answer this question?

Please if you are not a Catholic then do not try to answer this question, I will know by your answer if you are a True Catholic or not. Is it a True Sin for men %26amp; women when they masterbate, If so a Sin will we need to go to confession or what is the routine we need to take. I want a Religon based answer. No Rude comments keep them to yourself.Only a True practicing Catholic can answer this question?
The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:

2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices....(2359) By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

My understanding is that masturbation is a sin, period. However, the severity and culpability of the sin in question all depends on the context in which it takes place. I my opinion, regardless of the context and culpability, it is a sin that should be confessed at Reconciliation.Only a True practicing Catholic can answer this question?
Its not a sin and you dont need to confess.

Where does it say that in the bible.

If you cant handle the guilt you feel, then don't do it.
according to church doctrine it is a sin to masturbate. the bible says ';though shalt no spill thy seed upon the ground';. however its what called a venial sin, which means its lesser than a mortal sin. if you want to tell your priest you masturbate thats up to you. but i honestly think its not nessacary. when you leave a confessional and do your penance you are absolved of all your sins. if you are catholic
Traditionally, masturbation falls into the category of ';impure thoughts'; and devout Catholics would confess this. If you are married, it is viewed as a kind of cheating on your spouse, and if you are single, it is view as impurity. Marital sex is extremely important and valued in Catholic marriages, and ';solo practitioners'; are encouraged to avoid this and to focus on healthy, bonding sex with their marriage partner.
A true Catholic would go and speak with his/her priest and not come onto the internet to ask for a spiritual answer.
See, that's the problem with religious nut jobs.... Everything in life is a sin.

They just love to ruin everything.

No wonder the world is so f*cked up.
yes catholisism says masterbation is a sin, the body is a temple and the lord lives in it.

personally, i dont think its a sin but then i am not going to pergatory, and i dont stand at the pearly gates.

good luck dude, my advice, if in doubt, confession is good for the soul.
I wonder where you got the term ';True Sin'; - seems that you've been ministered to by someone who interprets Scripture very conservatively.
do you think only catholics do that sort of thing,

where do you come up with weird questions sit down and read your bible
based on traditional Catholic practices, mastrubation is a sin, and needs to be confessed.
If you feel it is a sin then yes go to confession. But it really isn't a sin. The catholic church is not as strict as it once was. My friend just got married in a church without either her or fiance being confirmed and the date was booked only a few months in advance in a church they had never been in before! So dont worry. If so many people can get married without officially being part of the church then they dont care what you do in your private life.
Lust is one of the seven capital sins. You must confess.
Yes, masturbation is a sin.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:

1. Single people should be celibate.

2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, ';Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul.';

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.
yes is true, is a carnal desire and is a sin to please yourself
Masterbation is normel. for anyone. its part of PLEASING yourself .
This is not a sin. Yes I am a practicing Catholic.
By catholic standards, Sex should be something between a man and a woman in order to concieve a child. Masturbation is the equivalent of preventing a child to be concieved, hence the sin. Also, because it is a carnal pleasure. I recomend contacting your NFP chapter in your parish. They have great classes that might clarify your questions on sexuality and family plannin. Also, read the book Intimate Bed Fellows, it's a catholic's guide to sex and sexuality with your partner. But do seek council from your curch, deacon, or someone you trust with in your parish, or curch comunity.
In religious terms, not just Christianity but other religions it is classed as self abuse, and in very strict catholic terms, a waste of sperm which could potentially become a child, but don't stress man, I have a feeling most 'true' catholics have done it at one time or another, including the priests.

The beauty part of Catholicism is, if you are TRULY sorry for something, you can confess and be forgiven, even if you find yourself unable to abstain post confession.and have to go back and forth and confess regularly.

It is nearly impossible to be a perfect Catholic or a perfect Christian as humanity by its very nature is flawed
