True or False Chemistry Question.?

As a general rule, aqueous sodium bicarbonate is preferred to aqueous sodium hydoxide for abstracting acidic compounds form organic solutions. True or False?True or False Chemistry Question.?
Generally that is true, mainly because the bicarb is a bit milder than NaOH, allowing for better selectivity for extracting carboxylic acids (and possibly avoiding other sources of side-reactions).

Downside of using it is that CO2 can be produced, which has to be vented, paticularly on larger scale
